Experience Builder
Experience Builder is a crucial element of Drupal's new Starshot initiative. Its goal is to enable site builders without Drupal experience to easily theme and build their entire website using only their browser, and to empower content creators to compose content on any part of the page without relying on developers.
Visual page building has always been an interesting challenge for me throughout my 15 years of building content management systems. It's a solved problem outside of the CMS space. Add areas where Drupal shines, such as structured data, content uniformity, fine-grained access control, or multilingual capabilities, and we have a unique challenge that no CMS has truly solved yet. I see this as critical for Drupal's future. Starting from August, 2024, Acquia hired me to work on Experience Builder almost full-time to help the project move forward.

- Displaying re-rendered component props form when new components are clicked
- Undo/redo functionality for component props form
- Client-side error handling with error boundaries
- Mouse middle-click panning of canvas from inside preview iframe
- Flaky end-to-end test fix by waiting for event handlers to be attached to preview iframe
