Team Brews
I started two tech companies where I built and led engineering teams as CTO.
Relevant Bits: Bootstrapped Web Agency
In 2018, I co-founded Relevant Bits, a company registered in Ontario, Canada. We grew our web agency business to 7 figures in the first year, all while keeping our team small. Customers, among them prominent companies like Autodesk, continuously trusted us. I managed a lean, remote team of 5 to 10 engineers. Architecture and technical leadership on key projects was my responsibility, as well as hiring decisions and regular 1:1 meetings. I developed an intense dedication to documenting everything from project specific development practices to broader company policies — some might call them SOPs. After a rewarding 5-year journey of consistent growth, with the agreement of my wonderful business partners, I had the company buy back my shares, marking my first modest success as an entrepreneur.
Indivizo: VC-backed HR Tech Startup
In 2012, I became the technical co-founder of Indivizo, a VC-backed HR tech startup headquartered in Budapest. Our product focused on video interviews for recruitment. I built our MVP from scratch on my own. We sold it to prominent banks, insurance companies, and mobile operators of the region, including MOL — the most valuable company in Central and Eastern Europe at the time. After gaining initial traction, we raised several rounds of venture capital, enabling me to assemble our hybrid engineering team. At this stage of my career I deeply focused on creating a truly agile engineering culture. This not only enabled us to ship fast, but we were also successful early adopters of technologies like React, Go, and Docker. Fun fact: one of our earliest investors went on to be a star of the Hungarian edition of Shark Tank.
